Rules
Fun but competitive league. Which means we like to have fun and keep score and celebrate wins with points-money-and bragging rights. Some players are more serious while others are enjoying the comradery and being outdoors swinging a stick.

Basic Rules:
Tee box: Men White
Senior 65 Gold
Women Red
(Handicaps are set by tee box. If you switch you reset your handicap.)

You can roll the ball within 1ft. You cannot improve the cut (rough-to-fairway, or fairway-to-fringe, or fringe-to-green, etc). Pick-up and clean ball in fairway is allowed. This is also known as Winter Rules.

Scoring limit per hole is double par (par-3/max-6, par-4/max-8, par-5/max-10). Once you hit double par score, pocket your ball and advance to next hole. This helps to keep the pace of play enjoyable for all.

Hitting Out of Bounds or Unplayable. You have three options
(1) Hit again from the same spot plus one-penalty stroke. (hit 1, drop 2, now hitting 3)
(2) Advance to where the ball entered the OB. Drop the ball horizontally within four-club lengths or any place on the line back from where the ball was hit. You cannot drop the ball closer to the pin. Add penalty stroke.
(3) Work out the drop location with your opponent. (Is it ok if I drop here?) (Hey just drop it right there.) Add penalty stroke.

No gimmies over 12” for boogie or better, gimmies must be given by opponent.

Rain outs will be determined 1-hour prior to first tee time. If we have a rain out, the scheduled match will be played the following week, and we will add one week to the end of the schedule. If more than two rain outs, further discussions will be had to work-out remaining schedule.

Subs are allowed and encouraged if you can’t make it. Keep in mind we join a league to play against other players. If you can’t find a sub please contact league manager. Make-up rounds need to be approved by league manager and tee times must be made with the course (same 9 as being made up). If we have a rain out, make up rounds are forfeited.

Matches will be set prior to week one. All attempts will be made to make the schedule random and avoid duplicate matches.

Handicap:
Handicap is 3-week rolling average x 85% (once established)
1st week is 65%, 2nd week is 75%, the 85% from that point forward.
Example:
week 1 shots 45
45-36(par)=9, 9 x 65% = 5.85 (round) Player A has a 6hcp
week 2 shots 49
Average of 45(week-1) and 49(week-2)=47
Now 47-36(par)=11, 11 x 75% = 8.25 (round) Player A has a 8hcp
Week 3 shots 42
Average of 45(week-1) and 49(week-2) and 42(week-3)=45.3
Now 45-36(par)=9, 9 x 85% = 7.65 (round) Player A has a 8hcp
Every additional round is calculated the same at 85% only averaging the last three rounds.
